Parking Lights Help

From time to time after driving around with my headlights on, I go to turn off my headlights, but the parking lights, and gauge lights remain on. To get them to turn off, i rapidly turn on and off the headlights. This is a nuisance because it sometimes takes 2-3 minutes of flipping. Also, when activating my alarm via remote, the lights flash and sometimes remain on through this way too.

What needs to be replaced or fixed. What part should i be looking at? Thanks.

could be a poor connection in your combination switch for the lights. sounds like poor contacts to me.

what i am suggesting is that th contacts on the actual light switch may be gummed up or corroded

i thought that too. But how does that explain the same thing happeninig when activating the alarm. I guess my main question is where do the alarm and light switch join.
