WOT and loose cable

I have a 3vzfe with nitrous. I think I over did it with this mod, so I decided to put it back to the stock position, but now I don't think my WOT is at WOT, which is critical to nitrous. How do I know that my car is at WOT, and can I some how have this mod without affecting WOT. Experts help me out. Which cable do I move to fix WOT the top or bottom one, and which way do I move it, left or right?

1. So basically I want to make sure my WOT is at WOT
2. Tighten up the loose cable so there isn't so much slack
3. To know if there is a way to do this mod without affecting WOT

If someone can answer those 3 questions by telling me which cable to adjust (top or bottome) and which way (left of right), I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

BTW, the reason I don't think its at WOT, is because, whenever I use the nitrous I get an intake backfire now as compared to before this mod, I never had a problem.

the stock position (where it is now) will give you wot. you can tighten it a bit if you want. it is the top cable. the bottom is the automatic transmission kickdown cable. if you get rid of slack on that your transmissin will shift harder and faster.

Cool

Take your intake off your throttlebody & inspect it visually. Same for the transmission cable. Tighten it up abit.

what you do is take off the intake pipe to the throttle body, have a friend mash the pedal and u see if the valve is open all the way.

you tighten the cable, so you decide which way the nuts go...

What was wrong with my post yesterday?

Quote:
I think I know what you mean. You need to adjust the top cable, but you don't know how much by. So take the intake pipe off your throttle body and get someone else to put the accellerator to the floor. You'll see how far the throttle plate moves. So while your assistant is still there, tighten up the cable at the top until the plate couldn't be any more open.

That's what I did, and it seems a little bit more responsive now.

Oh and to move it, you should end up with more thread on the right side and less on the left. So start moving the nuts to the left.

nothing was wrong with your post yesterday, I just wanted to bring it to the gen 3 & 4 forum and get more feedback. You can never be too sure on what to do you know.

I did the mod before to, and changed it back. I tested WOT by placing two large rocks on the gas pedal, and the flap near the intake was practically horizontal, so im guessing my WOT is at the right spot.
