Ive got my HID installed in the shop long time ago. when driving with the lights on, when i flick the highbeams, the HID (normal driving light) would turn off. as matter of fact when i turn on the highbeams the normal driving light would turn off.
4years ago this shop did something to the wiring and fixed the problem. Can someone tell me which wire i should connect or something...
You probably just have the lowbeam HID kit, how much did you pay for your kit ? high\low HID kits usually go for about $500 and lowbeam HIDs go for $300 or less. The lowbeam kits are only using power from your lowbeams to power it up leaving the highbeam wire open, nothing bad with these kits ! i have the same type of kit, you just wont have highbeam but usually with HIDs youd never use highbeam hehe. The high\low HIDs have a shield where the bulb sits in, the highbeam wire connects to a motor in thats part of the bulb and when you flash your highs the motor sucks the bulb in just enough to where the light shines through an opening in the shield.
so basically what you're saying is that if you get HID's that are just a plug and play kit they will cause vehicles that have a separate high and low bulb to only functin individually and not together?

Thats not how mine are setup. I bought "plug anf play" ones, but all I had to do was connect the stock low-beam wiring harness into the ballast, and the high-beam into the standard bulb. I can use low or low+high on mine just fine.

Not if you have a seperate bulb for Highbeam, i forgot that Camrys have a seperate bulb for Highbeam hehe, sorry !, you should only lose Highbeam if you have a single bulb that does both High and Lowbeam. When i had my Camry i think the bulbs might be wired in series or something... not too sure.. but they were linked, so like geoff5093 said, you probably just have to route the wire for Highbeam to the other bulb
from what i know, headlight with seperate high and low beam, at night, if i turn on my headlight, then push the light switch toward dash, it will turn on high beam, and low beam remains on, the blue high beam indicator on dash will be on, but if i pull the light switch toward myself, only high beam is on, low beam, fog light turn off, the blue high beam indicator at dash not on either.
on vehicle with H4 bulb, either low or high on at once, but never both.
Wait, I thought the Gen4 only had one bulb for high and low? But I noticed that you have gen4.5 headlights, but are they seperate high and lows, or is one just a DRL?

The US & AUST Camrys are different. I'm not sure if this correct, but the US camrys have the single bulb headlight, while the Aust Camrys have the double bulbs headlight (I have double bulbs on my GEN 4) oh yeah, WE Don't have DRL.
Why I wonder would you spend that much for lights, all your doing is blinding other people unless you Live in Australia where there aren't street lights every 10 yds.?
Highbeam HIDs are not suggested for a reason of blinding incoming traffic (if the output is not controlled) as well as the life of the ballast/bulbs if flicked.

No, the bixenons have a reflective shielding that manipulates the beam so that it supplies more output light to illumiate the roads.
