Try a salvage yard for a new one. If you can't find one locally, try carparts.com. It will do a nationwide search based on yards closest to your zip code.

Clearly, someone did not search

Been there, done that. I ended up sourcing a new one, cleaned it up, and put it on. The part was $50 at a salvage yard (which was $40 too much).

One place you can check is ebay - every once in awhile, someone will polish/paint a valve cover and put it up, they usually sell for about $50 and look real nice too.

In the mean time, get some JB weld and fill in the crack.

Oh, and DO NOT get one from a Gen 3. They don't fit. They fit the head, but the PCV valve is in a different location and has intereference problems with the throttle body I believe.

Reminds me that I really have to finish my painted Gen3 one and get it out. Here's a pic of its progress:

I wire-wheeled it (took a long time, but really cleaned it up), degreased the inside (lots of sludge and varnish), primered, then painted. Last thing I need to do is sand off the paint on the stripes.

Thanks for the comment

A wire wheel is a small drill attachement with lots of wire bristles. Imagine a wire brush that you would use to clean a battery terminal, and then attach all the bristles radially to a wheel, and put it in a drill.
