3rd Generation couple gague questions

Well guys my gauge pod came in today and i got my mech. gauges in today also( water temp, oil pressure, and volt, there all mechincal) i was just wondering where should i go though the firewall at? because i was looking for a hole in the firewall to run the hoses and couldnt find. I was looking for my oil pressure sender today so i can tap my new oil pressure gauge and i think i found it. its a 3vz-fe motor. Is it to the left of the oil filter with 2 wires going into it? when i put my car on the "on" positon but not running the oil light comes on with everything else but if i unplug it, it goes off and if you start the car it will still stay off is that the right one? also i need to know where to tap in for my water temp at? i let the car run up to its normal temp today and found a wire running by the radior cap up on the motor and when i unplug it my temp doesnt work but when i hook it back up it works. so Im guess that where i tap in for my water temp then. thanks guys for all the help

I think that mechanical gauges are a lot more dangerous, I personally wouldnt install them unless it was a racing application, but anyway- try a search, there is info about the wiring and senders. There is a hole in your drivers fender that you could run the lines through, just remove the splash gaurd in the fender and you will see it.

I just drilled a nice little hole in my firewall for my gauges and 4 gauge wire. If you do though, make sure you use a grommet.

are you sure you got mechanical gauges? If your talking about spots where the wires are running into then it sounds to me like an electric gauge. My oil pressure gauge tapped into the wire off my sending unit because i have an electric gauge. Water temp if its mechanical im not too sure of but if its electric go off the coolant temp sensor.

is there an actual line of oil running to the gauge, or is it just a sender with a wire?
