3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
i wouldn't waste the money personally. I doubt you could get any noticable power from it, if at all. Most of those types of things are marketing gimicks.

Actually I've heard that air intake alterations, like the Tornado actaully do give you better MPG, and the TB spacer wouldn't really lower the temp of the intake air too much b/c in millisecs it would hit the hot intake manifold, now a intake manifold spacer, or plastic spacer would reduce intake temps. In Sport Compact Car they did it to a h=Honda to lower the intake temp, some really heavy duty plastic. It actually came with some of the Hondata software and this was a actual part that came with it anyway, yeah even then not too much power, we must admit we have Camry's nice but not racecars.
Throttle body spacers are a support mod on high hp applications, especially FI applications where the intake manifold can get really hot and the owner is looking to eek out every last bit of temperature reduction. I helped a friend of mine install one on his S4, but it was mainly because he was doing a lot of other things to it at the time as well. I wouldn't consider them individually, because the gains are likely to be minimal.

Ok, airraid makes TB spacers with a spiral and I was wondering if the 5S's TB and say a 3.4 Tacoma have the same TB intake diameter so they could be mated?
There is one, but it says its made by Street Performance? therefore I wasn't sure of thei quality, I read the install PDF, it obviously fits but I cannot be sure of it's performance gains.
A TB spacer would be a complete waste of money. I have an intake manifold spacer on my Talon and I can't say I have felt it at all... I found myself spending too much time on trying to find out if it works or not and realised I better spend the 20 bucks, put it on (engine was out anyway) and forget about it. Which I did. It probably helps a little bit but there are so many other things going on in and around that engine that it's not worth even thinking about.
But I am 100% positive on a stock Camry a TB spacer wouldn't do a damn thing. For better MPG just control your right foot a little more.

Not for temperature control, it has spirals like a Airraid TB spacer for say the Chevy Tahoe, which sounds pretty cool, possibly works, not for temp control.
