You need to provide more information. What engine; 4 or 6? How many miles on the car? How has it been maintained? What has been done to the car lately? When did this problem start? Does this happen on only a cold start or on both cold and warm starts? How does the car run othr than this problem?

4 cyclinder
147k mileage
im the second owner. this problem was with the first owner. he never got it fixed.

turns off on both hot and cold days.
the engine has to be warm in order to run. rev for like around 1.5k rpm for like a minute for it to go without problem.

engine is probably too cold? cause it only happens when i parked for a really long time. mostly happens in morning when its freezing

Start by cleaning out the throttle body and the idle air control valve. It may be as simple as that. Do a search here for "throttle body cleaning". There are some good posts on the subject including one with some good pictures. If that doesn't cure the problem I would next check the engine coolant temperature sensor (Toyota calls it an ECT sensor). You will need the specs from any manual and a digital volt ohmeter to do this. There is a generation 3 Toyota factory service manual stickied at the top of the General Camry Forum, that is available for free downloading. If the coolant temp sensor checks out OK, I would then check the coil inside the distributor. Again you will need the DVM and the specs form the manual to do this.
