92 Camry, R12 or R134a/ R134a valve/gauge fits.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was under the impression that the fittings were different between r12 and r134a systems.

I just got a 1992 Camry 2.2 5spd that I THOUGHT was r12, until I decided to take a look at the fittings, and the gauge/recharge valve that I have for my Saturn (r134) fit!

So...Did this car come with a factory r134 system, or do you think its been converted?

Also, do you think its safe to add r134 refrigerant to the system? (It blows warm as of right now).

The system was originally R12. It sounds as if it has been converted to R134A.

Check for any conversion indication stickers on the compressor, frame, etc. See if the sight glass on the dryer is blackened out.
