Hey everybody. I've got an issue I'd like your advice on:
I was driving in the rain tonight and noticed the ground in front of me was't lite very well. I turned on the hi-beams but that wasn't any much better. At this point, I'm considering installing a pair of aftermarket fog lights, but being unexperienced, I don't know how to go about it. Several questions I have would be:
1. Do I have to drill the bumper? Or are there holes in the bumper I can use?
2. What is the level of difficulty in wiring?
3. Is drilling required to install the switch in the cabin?
1. depending on the foglight u may have to drill into the bumper to secure it. i used an epoxy on a pair once and it worked but was kinda ghetto.
2. most kits are wireed through a switch co its pretty easy. power wire from battery or 12V source to switch, ground from switch, power from swtich to lights and ground from lights. the kits usually come with everything ull need.
3. depending on what kinda switch is included in the kit, yes. but the camry has thoes nifty little pannels that are around the cabin and i used one of thoes to make it look factory but still requiered drilling. u may be able to use velcro to hold the switch up too.
it is not terribly difficult. there are no holes in the bumper which you can use. you can usually justscrew it in andit will hold - no need to drill. you will have to cut/drill in the cabin to install a switch if you want it to look nice. as for the wiring - no too hard. you could just splice it into the parking lights and run the ppower wire to the battery. the hardest part is fishing the wire through the firewall.

i agree
kits should have everything you need and should tell u how to do it... might even b a wire diagram in there too
i went to autozone they got a bunch of them there, i picked up some for 20 bucks and they look clean. dont get the projector foglights, they look wrong. lol i need to change my signature pic. hah
not me in the picture.

Could i just connect the fog light to the side lamps? but i am not sure which type of fuse is being used for the side lamp, 10A? 7.5A? or 15A?
By the way how can I make a switch to the dashboard? there is no hole in the firewall?
if the fuses match up, yeah but its usually easier just to use the fuse the company provides in the kit and then use the parking lights as the switch. and yes hter is a hole in the firewall, its tough to see but its there. i believe its right over the brake pedal.
