seeking for opinions

I have a 93 Camry with the 6c 3VZE I just bought used. This weekend my radiator failed -- stopped circulating. No big deal, replacement radiator isn't much. However, my mechanic tells me the head seals are now leaking - about $2.1k worth of work. I just got this car from an individual and the idea of having to drop nearly what I paid for it back into it is a very disturbing one. We re going to try some gasket sealer to see if we can seal the leak, at least temporarily, but I have little hope. So my three options seem to be 1) do the heads and suck it up. 2) Replace the car and eat the loss-- an option i am not thrilled about. 3) Put in a rebuilt engine, about $600 plus labor.

This is the first toyota I have ever owned -- hell, it's the first japenese car I've ever owned, and I bought it on the recomendation of my mechanic. I have mostly owned european cars and done the work myself. I simply don't have the time to do the head rebuild myslef here -- as it looks like about a 20 - 30 hrs job.

TIA -- Steve

not worth dealing with

just drop a new engine in

if you can rebuild engines yourself, then you can drop in a new one yourself over a weekend for sure. 300bucks for an engine and you're done.
