3rd Generation First impressions of the Apexi N1 on the 5sfe Gen3 Camry

Hey guys, finally got the apexi n1 muffler and installed it today and would like to share my experience with it for anyone looking to buy this muffler or wutever. Sound clips and pictures will be in the show and share section when I get the chance. First off the muffler is the Naturally Aspirated version so it's 2.36" inlet with a 3.56" tip I think. Custom exhaust consists of an 2.5" pipe connecting to an 2.25" pipe then it's connecting to the apexi muffler. Look wise it's what I was looking for, the tip isn't big and I believe it's a little smaller than the magnaflow ones and I positioned the muffler to not stick out so basically will be hard to tell if I even have a performance muffler on. Sound is very good actually love it and will admit that it's on the loud scale and on wot you can tell it's apexi n1 exhaust it has that same unique sound it produces on alot of cars but now for the bad it is kinda loud too when crusing at about 2500 rpms but after it it's reasonable like any performance muffler but the reason I believe it's on the loud side noise when cruising because for the time being only *I took off the resonator* but I'm already going to buy a good resonator for it and maybe change out the 2.5" pipe in the front for a 2.25" pipe like the rest but for sure I'm getting a good resonator so that should quiet it down for cruising and I believe after that it will be complete.

So for anyone out there apexi n1's are on the loud side but it will have a unique and IMO better sound than the magnaflows I heard on the same camry *when going wot* but for cruising get that resonator or at least keep the stock one on for the time being.

P.S. This was the NA muffler so the turbo version will probably be louder and ricier on this car. Also the car is an automatic and pretty much stock for now, so I will update on the sound when the intake arrives if it does anything to the sound output *cause we all know that's all they good for. Well next up k-sports are on the wayand when they arrive will explain why these arrived before the wheels I mentioned earlier *hint* stupid people are involved period

Thanks for the info I was looking into this muffler, I have a 5spd. though and cruise at around 2000 RPM's and would probably keep the stock resonator, but I suppose it would have a real nice growl at around 6000 RPM.

Nice. I had an Apexi N1 muffler on my SAAB 900S 2.3L and it sounded amazing for a 4 cylinder. Was one of the best sounds from a 4 banger I have ever heard, besides the Subura boxer engine.

i also have injen short ram intake but i might get a extension to covert cai but how much extra power can i gain from cold air vs short ram? my rpms move up faster with short ram. i had a plastic hose that i used from autozone but it was sh*t. so want to get a metal polished one but i dont want to waste my money

yeah i think removing the resonator on camrys makes it way to loud...i removed mine and i got a full cat back 2.25" piping to a Skunk2 muffler...its loud at low rpms but i use the silencer for it and it brings it down just to the right spot...sometimes its nice though to drive around and be loud

I'm from the south bay. Are you reusing the stock cat or going catless until inspections?

I made one today but it was of bad quality, all I heard was static. Gonna get better ones tomorrow, also the sound is pretty similar to the camry videos already up with the apexi n1 even though they are v6. Like I said before mine is going to be a little different I have a 2.5" pipe where the cat and resonator suppose to be (no cat, no resonator) to a 2.25" pipe from the resonator used to be at just to be exact with details. Also you have a 5-speed it's going to be better on yours when driving around - it's the case with all exhausts vs. automatics. Tomorrow sound clips and pics of the exhaust most likely after I get back from watching spiderman 3!!

Ohh I mean later tonight it's already past 12 lol!!
