hey i was wondering what kind of mufler i should et. I'm looking at the muffler less than $100, aka ebay mufflers, looing at the N1 types that are there..but what i was wondering how big should the outlet tip be ( since i dont want a loud ass muffler ) and hoe big the inlet ports should be.
Im also of thinking of getting a high flow mangaflow cat, also wondering what size ports should i get so i wont get a loud roaring sound...
I'm looking for a low deep sound when i "floor the gas"..help please

I had two of those N1 mufflers on my camry, because the body kit was cut for two. But one would have a nice deep sound to it as long as your getting a bigger pipe to go with it and I'm assuming you are since you want a high flow cat.
The 3" muffler outlet should be enough plus they come with a removable silencer. If you are going for a stock look and not planning on putting a kit on your car, you may want to consider a universal dual tip muffler.
It also depends on what size pipe you attach to the muffler. If you plan on putting in a turbo you probably want 3" piping and 2.5" for a S/C but you better check with someone else on that topic.
Well it would be nice if you stated which engine you have since the piping size is different. I forget the 4 banger size, but the V6 engine has stock 2.25" so you want to find one with that size inlet. If you do have the 4 cylinder, don't get anything over 3" for an outlet because it will just sound like poo. If you have the 6 cylinder, than you can go up to 4" for an outlet because it will sound very, very nice. And getting a high flow cat with the 4 banger will cause a really, really raspy poo sound under full throttle...especially with a muffler too. 6 cylinder again is a different story. It will just make it sound a lot throatier.
i have n1 muffler na 2.5 catback and its not too loud and not too quiet. i am happy but i want to geet a hi flow cat also but i cant seem to find someone here in temecula to put one on also a custom y pipe. mine is a v6 and i wnet 2.5 because i heard if you bigger like 3" you will get a lot of top end more then mid range. its a nice muffler and i think i paid like 198$ or somewhere around there. whats one of the best hi flow cats for v6 98 camry 1mzfe 2.5 piping?
94coupeV6, dont you remember that i have a i4 cly. Well anyways i got a 4cly car, and the only reason why im changing my cat is because o fthe sulfuric smell thats relases everytime i release the pedal at high speeds; i was told it was a bad cat, if it was a bad cat might as well one of the best ones so i wont get such a that horrible smell again. And no im planning on thorwing on a kit sooner or later, but im getting a single exhuat pipe muffler, i dfont think i'd like the sound of a dual pipe exhuast though i like the look

if ur lookin gor low deep anbd cheap then u might also want to coinsider flowmaster or magnaflow. both are fairly quiet and deep and can be gotten pertty cheap off ebay, espcially the flowmaster.
or if u can find a nice trd muffler on ebay...that would def sound good..speaking of that i still have to put mine on to see what it sounds like

OK, NOW WHAT ABOUT A CAT, IS IT GOOD TO HAVE ONE OR JUST A STRAIGHT
ok, now what about the Cat, is it good to have one on the exhuast system (well i kno we should have one to reduce emission and such) but since most people on TN have straight exhuast systems should i get a new cat or not?

since u live in NY im pretty sure both the cops and state emissions inspectors would not like the lack of the cat. it would help free up a few ponies(maby) but ud never pass emissions and most cops can smell exhaust with out a cat and stick u with a nasty work order if they look for on and dont find it. if u modify the cat, do it right, get a highflow cat. in addition to it being emissions illegal, it would sound kinda ricy and loud with a straight through muffler like an N1.
the thing is the one my biodding on from ebay has a 3.5" tip, couldnt find any 2.25" mufflers for a camry, plus the muffler i bought comes with a silencer. and im planing on getting a 2.5" cat...and may buy a resonator...wat do you think of this setup?

sorry but im a cheapsate...i gotta save money for other things, so im just trying to get a nice sounding muffler...i really dont care about model type or all that other stuff, the only reason why im changing the muffler is becuase my cat has to go...so im getting a new muffler to help out the cat since i have the stock muffler...so hopefully the muffler im getting is cheap but will do the right job...

there's a difference between muffler tip and the inlet, my muffler is 2.36" inlet which is ok for our engines which good size is 2.25" and comes with a 3.56" tip. The piping should be close to the inlet size of the muffler not necessarly the tip. Don't cheap out on the muffler man, get the magnaflow street series mufflers which go for $100 on ebay don't go cheaper than that. Look up different models of the street series on magnaflow website and copy and paste the product number and put it on ebay.
