I would bet what has happened is that your brake hose has went bad - and ends up letting pressure in but not out - so when you apply your brakes and it presses the piston in against the pads and then you release the brake the pressure is still there holding the pads until you wear them away and overheat them. Is it making a scrubbing noise? If this is your problem you will need to replace the brake hose. I know you said money is tight but when I have to replace a hose I always replace the one on the other side too (since it is just as old). You also want to make sure that your rotor is not ruined from scrubbing constantly (don't know how long this has been going on) and if it is you need another rotor. You do not want to skimp on getting brake pads when it is time for them (set is like $20 for lifetime ones at AutoZone here locally) as they can ruin your more-expensive rotors. Oh, and if it is not the brake hose itself (brake hose bad would make it scrub and eventually wear awar after a mile or so and quit scrubbing) then it might be (and your description of "seized" sounds more like this now that I think about it) the caliper is bad / piston locked outward pressing the pads. I hope this is a simple fix for you and is nothing too big or expensive. The parts are not that much if you know how to work on this yourself. They have downloadable manuals on the sticky area of the General Camry Forum if you want to try.
Best wishes,
Tracy
