baltimore...well shit. another MD person . well it really comes down to how much do u wanna spend and how fast do u wanna go? if u want serious power then, if u can find one, get the TRD supercharger or custom turbo. if u just want a little then consider weight reduction, exhaust( especially the Y pipe), some tranny upgrades, an intake(for sound not power ). all these should be done in prep for a turbo or S/C you have about as good a platform to start with as u can get with these cars being that u have the 97+ imz and a 5 speed(rare).

who makes an exhaust and Y pipe and would porting the UIAC and intake manifold add any power
porting would make only slight gains(not worth it) unless u changed the cam(also custom i believe). im pretty sure no one makes the y pipe. search here and ull find pics and descriptions that u can just take to a local muffler shop and have them fab it. its one of the best bang for buck mods to do to the V6. there is the TRD exhaust and i believe a few other make one, either some one will enlighten us or u can just search for that too, i know its been covered. this may help ya in ur search
actaully, on the 1mz, a drop in it will give u about as much gains as ur gonna get out of an intake mod on a stock engine unless u go for CAI for the cold air, even then the gains are negligable.
the only reason ud need headers is if u run forced induction. the exhaust is not actually that restrictive for the stock motor. the Y pipe is the only piece that really needs any change. id only do a full exhaust if u plan on turboing or S/C. u can get an exhaust fabbed up at a muffler shop for less then ud buy one but it may not be stainless steel like the JP is i believe. u should check out the solaraguy.com forum too, most parts for the solara will fit on the gen 4 camry.

K&N's own web site shows NO hp gain for drop-in. Don't Camry's already come stock with CAI. Mine ducts from outside engine bay.

I bought the jp headers only for a grand and I plan on doing a custom true dual exhaust. I will be supercharged though.
if you are looking for the best bang for your buck, have a custom y-pipe and cat-back built. and then build a custom cold air intake, and do the acis mod. all in all about $450-$800.
Then if you want to spend more $$$ and go with forced induction, the exhaust and intake will compliment it.

^ all stock exhausts are technically cai's since they draw air from the outside....but they are also usually fairly restrictive- both in piping and the fact that they usually have a resonator box
that's why it's an interesting call when people go to a short-ram and draw more air, but warm/hot air into the engine....it probably comes out to the same thing except it looks cooler and you get lots of sound
a true cai gets the best of both worlds and can net 2/3whp, and a bit more in real world situations. if you have engine work done or have boost, then a cai is important just for opening up the air
and chullen -> unless you have boost, the jpheaders/exhaust system is basically a waste of money. You'll probably gain less than 10whp from it. w/ boost (trd s/c at 4psi), it has been dyno proven to give gains of 20whp on an auto

does anyone know where I can get a supercharger or turbo kit from
