You won't gain anything but you will emit more pollution for the rest of us. Just clean it. You will need to use some PB Blaster or like on nut overnight and maybe a crows foot wrench to turn it off if there is an access problem.

You might gain a little power, such as Eye8 said. All the EGR basically does is recycle the exhaust gas, so if you remove it, then you are letting more fresh air into the combustion chambers rather then used exhaust gases.

Excuse me? EGR gases lower combustion temps and lower the production of N0x, a serious contributor to pollution. The EGR is shut off at idle and at WOT so you don't loose power. It is active at cruising speeds. Got dyno tests that show any significant power gains without EGR?

I dont have dyno tests, but i've heard from people that have gotten rid of it that they feel more low-end power, but I guess without proof then you wont believe it
well u shouldnt do it to gain power, there isnt really enough to free up. the car will pollute more and i may ware out the cat slightly faster as well. but if u want to save money by removing somthing instead of spending money to replace it and you state will "allow" it then its an option. quite a few people here have done it and reported small power gains and no ill effects with performance anywhere in the rpm range. the choice is yours.
but I guess without proof then you wont believe it
The Butt Dyno is quite subjective and wants to feel more power. It is unreliable especially when little to no gain is the reality. But I guess science has no place when perception is the goal.
