93 Camry a/c uses r12 or 134?

I know this year is right on the border, but not sure of R12 or 134.

IIRC, an auto parts store R124 gauge will only fit on the low side of an R134 fitting. So, if you happen to have the gauge/filler, if it doesn't fit, its R12.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

It's R12. Toyota didn't go to R134A until the 94 model year. I know this because it's one of the reasons I waited until the the 94 model year to purchase my new Camry. That and the addition of the passenger side air bag.

As an additional point, there should be a sticker under the hood stating what type of refrigerant is used by the car. When an R12 car is converted to R134A, there is usually a new sticker put under the hood that states it's been converted.
