is this a motormount issue?
I have a 1992 toyota camry. the transmission blew out and yesterday i finished replacing it and put it on the road. yesterday it ran fine BUT every time i stopped accelerated hit a bump or turned the wheel. i heard a squeak. basically anything that might slightly move the suspension. today i took it back to school and looked and realized the rear 2 subframe bolts werent as tight as they should be. so i took the stronger impact gun and torqued them in. the sound went away. BUT now when i accelerate or brake my engine vibrates violently. i put the e brake on and put it in drive. and revved it the engine moves only a little foreward. i put it in reverse and revved it. it tilts drasticly backwards. so the rear motormount (the one connected to the axle) must be bad. my question is why did this problem exhibit itself after tightening the subframe? was it because the slight play in the subframe may have dampened the engine motion? i asked myself why it would vibrate while stoping hard and i concluded that because the car is in drive and the axles are connected to the hub. and slowing the car down in turn slows the engine down. and it will stress the engine causing to move. so a blown motor mount would fail to dampen the movement. does anyone agree that this could be a possibility? oh yeah when i throw it in neutral and stop hard it doesnt vibrate.
