USA Just turned over 300,000

My 1992 Camry 2.2 5spd just turned over 300,000 miles. And people say that 4cyl motors don't last...

Here's to another 300K! With continued maintenance, it may well get there.

Wow, pretty good 300k, original engine? Can you do a more detailed post on what maintenance and work you have done to it over the years, what oils you think are good, what your driving conditions are? I'm sure alot of people would find it interesting.

Well, I've only had the car for about 40K, but I knew the previous owner very well and have all the maintenance records.

Let's see...

2 Timing Belts and Water Pumps (preventative) @ 130 and 220K

Alternator, plugs/wires tuneup at 175K

Top end rebuild, fuel pump & filter @ 220K

Right control arm bushing, both stabilizer bar bushings, valve cover gasket, torque strut mount and both CV axles @ 290K

too many brake parts to list!

Next up is the left control arm bushing and the front wheel bearings - in a paycheck or two.

Oil and Filter every 3K with Good Ol' dino oil - mostly exxon mobil. NO extra additives (slick50 or otherwise)

I think thats all. I only use OEM Parts (as much as possible).

I never rev past 4000rpm, and keep it under 75. I get 24mpg with a 60/40 mix of city/highway miles.

I love this car.
