Arrow Help - Urgent - Camry stalling in deep puddle.

Hi guys .

Yesterday it was raining heavily in houston.

well i was driving thru a deep puddle that made my 2001 camry engine die.


well my friends and i pulled it out of the water waited for some time and then i tried to crank it.

but alternator would not rotate i thing something is jammed ????? .
i mean the engine would not turn ...

i left it there for the whole night and i am going to try it today . well is there a procedure
fir starting in such a situation without damaging the engine further.

your comments are welcomed .

Either your intake sucked up and became completely soaked in water (unlikely) or your alternator got splashed as well as the spark plug wires and needs top be dried out.

Check your spark plug and distributor compartments if it's an i4. If it's a v6 check the wires to make sure they're not wet.

Are you stating the when you turn the ignition key to start, the engine does not turn over, or it turns over but does not start?
