3rd Generation 5sgte

School me on some information. Say theoretically I have a transmission that will hold up to the power. From what I have been searching around I understand that the older (94ish) 3sgte head will bolt up directly to the (94)5sfe motor, but basically you would have to switch out all of the electronics for the 3sgte stuff. How reliable do you think this hybrid combination would be? and how much power would it make(theoretically)?

Cool

you normally would just stick the 5s-fe crank in a 3s-gte block, but whatever you want lol! I'd change the pistons & rods out since you're already un-mating the head. Which is seirously beginning to get into "Just buy a 2s-gte and put your crank in it" territory.
You're also in the price range of swapping your pistons, rods & porting & piolishing your FE head (use an MLS gasket). That would probably produce the msot power for the least money by far.

I see 0 reason to use a 3s-gte head unless it's just free. even a mild hand porting job will eclipse what the gte head would flow without the same treatement.

dont use a 3sgte head

why not go for a 5s-fte setup? its a more original mod, in my opinion and it has a more stock feel to it with some extra hp

well I'm thinking that with the 5sfe head there aren't that many aftermarket cams without going custom and getting one made. Also with the 5sfe head can't you only use the base 3sgte turbo manifold? (at least that's how i'm understanding it from the sticky at the top of the camry forum)
