hi guys im new to the forums. I am also very unlearned in that art of cars >.<. I currently have a 2000 Camry Le, silver w/ a small gash in the front bumber, and some paint peelings in the back (ill upload some pics later). I want to give my car a little more umph!, and i would like to know all and my best options to do that, im not rich but i would like to see what all can be done. Ill do an engine swap if possible or necessary, (the one in there is only a V4). also what are some other minor modifications i can do to make it look better? the windows are already tinted. thanx guys, i appreciate all help
well your best bet for speed is a manual trans + V6 swap ...
and to clarify, you have a 5S-FE engine which is an Inline-4 engine ... pretty weak [its what my gen3.5 has] so there arent too many direct mods for it
if you want style, there are a million body, lighting, and effect things you can do ... browse around the Gen 3 & 4 forums for DIYs and mods and upgrades

k so i was lookin at a 6g72 twin turbo, like i've said i've never workd with cars at all, is all i need to do is get the engine? or do i have to get other stuff to replace too? btw is that engine ne good? reliable? ect? thanx
try giving us how much money you have first, if you dont have thousands of dollars to spend, you're not gonna get that much more power than you have now
that's the 3000GT VR4 engine and using my common sense don't bother trying to swap that in your camry because you said you are not rich which is the norm for camry owners so forget it about it if it is power you want from a camry cheaply just sell the car and get the version that comes with the v6 already at least.
if you want a stock toyota v6, go for a 1MZFE swap [thats what the v6 camry's have]
if you want a turbo'd engine, try a 3sgte perhaps? do a search for engine swaps in the Gen3/4 section ...and try sending a message to some of the moderators/admins and they can direct you further
what is your budget?

i could prolly at max spend 3k$ on engine, but i won't be able to have it till a couple weeks into the summer. and i didn't figure i could just put ne engine in thats why i was asking, b/c i have no idea how to tell which ones i can and can't put in
well i think the direction you want to go in is a 1MZ-FE + Supercharger or Turbocharger
however, with a $3k budget, you will have to stick with just the 1MZ-FE [its a 194hp V6 i believe] at first ... the forced induction will have to come later
and according to Edmunds.com, the Gen 4 Camry with the 5S-FE goes 0 -60 in 11 seconds, whereas the Gen 4 Camry with the 1MZ-FE goes 0 - 60 in 7.1 seconds
