im having a lil trouble removing my windshield wiper arm from my gen3.5
i took the little plastic bolts/caps off from under the hood with my socket set
the passenger-side arm came right off with a small amount of upward pressure, but the driver-side wont come off ... i am afraid to twist/pull too hard, so i figured i would ask you guys what i should do
if anyone has any pics or a link to a manual that tells how, or can just tell me which direction(s) to pull in, that would be great
in addition, i want to paint them black again, should i sand them down first? they are chipped pretty bad and theyre half painted, half metal. other than a metal-specific paint, is there any special spray paint i should use?
thanks

When I painted mine, I sanded them down first and then painted them with Dupli-color black paint. However, after a few mouths it is already starting to peel so I would recommend using a different paint.
Use paint stripper, then alcohol swab them down. Autozone, Napa, Pepboys, WalMart, etc, all have paint stripper. Get the one called Aircraft Paint Remover if you can. Should have an Airplane on it.

5 Lug Corolla WHAT?
"they are chipped pretty bad and theyre half painted, half metal."
This is a common problem on the generation 3's. I had mine powder coated about 4 years ago. My best friend does powder coating professionally and he owed me a favor. They still look brand new today. The powder coating is much more durable than paint.
i just sanded down what i could ... i didnt bother removing the little amount of leftover paint ... i just want this to last a year or two, not forever
im gonna paint a second coat today, i did the first coat last nite
im using a Rustoleum Painter's Touch Flat Black spray paint
