4th Generation get this!

so i went and got my exhaust done about a month or two ago and i had a muffler shop put on a apexi n1 na muffler. 60mm inlet and 90mm outlet. inlet is 2.36 inches wide. enough for a 2.5 inch piping right? well i paid about 160 for installation. so after i got it done they wrote on my invoice that it was 2.5 piping a weld on muffler. i got home and after it was broken in a little bit i was hoping it would be a bit louder. it didnt. so i went under my car too take a look myself and was thinking that the piping didnt look like a 2.5 piping. well i got a tape measure and i was right. it was the same pipe size as the stock one. i went to the shop for them to look at my piping because i hit a big rock and i wanted to get it fixed. i told them i was thinking about getting a y pipe and hi flow cat. i then asked him if the piping was 2.5 and he said yes. i gave a wierd look and i knew that he knew he was lying. then after about 5 more minutes of talking about things he then said" well actually it is 2.25". i told him that you were suppose to put on 2.5 he said its the muffler. size is too small for 2.5 piping. but my question is if their is 2.36 inlet on the muffler and i got 2.5 inch piping it should worked right? i have a feeling i got ripped off. and the worst part is i lost my invoice. this freakking blows! so i decided i am going to redo my whole exhaust. for those of you that havent done a exhaust yet make sure you do it right the first time. im going with another shop and am getting it done right.

this is somthing good to remember. ur exhaust is only as good as the smallest diameter. if the muffler inlet is 2.36, then dont bother getting an exhaust bigger then that, it wont do u any good, cept with sound. u really dont need 2.5 unless ur gonna run fairly high boost anyways.

that does suck that they lied but thats why i always reaserch all the places in my area to find out the shops with the best service. usually its the ones that will charge a little more.

oh and report them to the Better Buisness Beuro. that goes on their record and will serve as a warning to others as well as force them to get better or loose buisness.
