4th Generation Exhaust Manifold Stud - Broken

Hello all,

I have a 2000 LE V6 5Sp. I put on Dat's Y-Pipe a few weeks back. I noticed an exhaust leak, so last night I loosened the 4 bolts that fasten the Y-Pipe to the exhaust manifold to try to reposition the gasket. While loosening one of the bolts, it got jammed and I, stupidly , cranked on it harder. I bent the stud so that it's fubarred. So now, I only have 3 bolts holding the Y-Pipe up to the manifold.

Has anyone here had to replace this stud? Does anyone know where to get a replacement stud? Is it available at the dealer?

Thanks in advance for any help.

www.rockauto.com lists the stud so think the dealer should also carry it.

before you attack the stud with the vice grips, try using a jam nut to turn it out. a jam nut is where you put two nuts on the stud and tighten them against each other, then you use that to unscrew the stud. if that doesn't work, then time for the vice grips-

Great thanks for the advice. Will check out rockauto.com and try the jam nut trick.
