I have a 99 camry le v6. i want to swap with a solara v6 engine. the place that has it says it is the same engine. it says 2000 on the tag. does anyone know if that one will work. im new to toyotas so i dont even know where to start to see if it will work. if anyone knows of any good ideas will you please pass it on. thanks
they are the same engine but for whatever reason they have slightly different hp and tq numbers. im guessing that it has to do with the exhaust, timing or a/f numbers. unless ur engine is in bad shape id skip the swap and spend the money either on a solara or get a manual swap.
the newer 1mzs have vvt-i. better off just going with the 3mz, the 3.3L v6. its a bored out version of the 1mz vvt-i, and makes the most power(stock) out of the mz family.
my engine now is bad, need something quick. the one im putting in only has 67,000 miles on it. it was in good running shape when the solara was totaled
Well instead of making a new topic I'll post my question here since it's related. Is it possible to swap my 2.2L 4banger for a V6 Solara or Camry engine? And if so does anyone have an estimate of what it would cost?
You can swap it for a 1MZ-FE but theres alot more involved then just the engine. The ECU, struts, wiring harness, dash panel, transmission, and a whole lot more.
yes its possible, but serch it, there are literaly hundreds of threads about the topic and whats involved. also try not to thread jack like that, i know it frustrates me when im trying to get some anwsers.
99camrydb- the engine should be a fairly easy and direct swap. but the best way to do it is to swap the entire subframe with the engine and tranny with it. with ony 60 somthing k miles that sounds like a pretty good deal.
