CNN did a report about improving MPGs and suggested that along with removing excess weight and roof racks that removing rear wings/spoilers would improve your gas mileage.
I have the OEM spoiler on my auto and was really wondering how much, if any, drag or mileage loss it was causing.
Thanks RB
I doubt it is anywhere close to 5mpg unless you are traveling at really fast speeds. I wouldn't be willing to remove mine, the improve look > miniscule amounts of gas savings
wouldnt be worth it. the camry oem spoiler doesnt even produce any down force which would be the only thing that would cause u to loose gas milage, unless the spoiler was like a 6" pannel sticking off the trunk. ive seen the same claim discussed in a magazine like 4 years ago and it was proven wrong in 90% of all cars with spoilers.
