Trunk slamming shut

A little help please...my '99 Camry's trunk is trying to slam shut. It seems too heavy and it closes hard, so hard it busted the spoiler. I've adjusted the springs but it is still trying to slam shut. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If youve adjusted the springs i dont think theres much else you can do. Maybe retrofit shocks like the front hood?

I have the same problem you have except its my 17 inch LCD in the trunk lid causing the problem...

The solution... GAS SHOCKS! Easy to find, cheap and they work!

Still having problems with my trunk. I went to a salvage yard and got springs out of a 99 Camry whose trunk opened and closed very easily with no heaviness as I was closing it. Put the springs on my 99 and it still gets heavy about half-way down, dangerously heavy.

Some have mentioned gas shocks or struts. Where can I get them specifically for my car? Has anyone modified this generation Camry with struts or shocks on the trunk?

Any help here guys would be greatly appreciated!

as midnight said, it will have to be retro fit, so there arnt any shocks made specifically for the job. try to find ones off a hood, maby even a camry hood. id just put one though if u go with a factory hood shock, 2 and ull have the oppisite problem, ull have to slam the trunk to get it to close
