I have a gen 3 camry 4 cylinder. When i floor my car past 3500 rpm till almost redline my car sounds like it has turbo. I get that spooling sound of a turbo and some say that i have a BOV. I don't have any mods except a k&n panel filter. Do you know what is the cause of it? I hear the spooling sound in the engine bay and want to know where is it making that sound and how it is created. thanks
my k&n drop in makes my car sound like i have a short ram intake

yup, you're just hearing the intake a little better and because you have an open filter, you're hearing what would be normally muffled due to a silencer and a closed air box.
My intake and exhuast and other mods make my 1999 sound nasty for a camry. When I choose to put my foot into it, people say it screams like a super / turbo. I have successfully scared 2 decked eclipses, 2 decked evos, and impressed a C5. I died laughing all the way home. I'f only I had a camera. Facial expressions are pricelss. They have NOTHING to fear from my Camry. Theres a few truely scary Camrys out there but mine SURE IS NOT ONE OF THEM. Unless you are willing to expend vast sums of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ you won't really get much go fast out of a camry. You'll mostly just get nice sounds. You almost certinaly do not have a turbo. Unless you have big pipes and intercoolers and all that jazz, Its just the different filter is making a little more whistling. Enjoy the sounds of rice. If it is pleasing to your ears thats all that really matters.

It seems to be a common trait among 5sfe camrys, im unsure on what it is however their is a quiet "spooling" sound produced by the endinge from around 4000 rpm to 6000 rpm (prodominatley). Seems to be the only gift camry owners have recieced haha. So spool away with your pretend turbo camry.. JUST LIKE ME!

never heard a camry with any spooling sounds unless theyre running forced induction b4, so i have no idea what u guys are talking about ... probably just increased air flow noise due to intake mods/filters/etc
