So a while ago [after axle replacement] my car started clicking in the front right wheel well ...
of course everyone suggested that it may be a CV joint, but i didnt think so because the click only happens when my body rolls a lil and i make a WIDE [like 90 degree] left turn...i had them check the CV Joint and new axle when i got my rotors replaced and whatnot last week, and they said the joint looks perfect
remember, the clicking is coming from the right, so it would be a tension issue as opposed to compression ... the body on the right side would be raising while the left lowers
now i think the clicking could be coming from my strut brace or something like that ... ive heard that they pop/click when they are worn alot or under weird stress
what do you guys think about this clicking? Its one REALLY loud click each time i do that turn ... it doesnt happen when i go over speed bumps. hopefully its not this, because i just had my rotors and pads replaced, so i would hate to havta pay for that same labor again just to replace strut mounts or w/e

CV joint clicking usually occurs when making a turn opposite of the damaged joint. Right turn noise, left joint bad. Left turn noise, right joint. If a CV joint, beyond checking the boots it can be very difficult to tell from looking at them. Unless of course you take the joint completely apart. A bad joint will make a clicking, popping noise. As in pop, pop,pop until the turn is completed. Not just one or two pops. The noise will get worse as the miles add up.
Bad CV would not make noise going of a bump, perhaps during acceleration yes.
A shop should be able to test drive the car and determine if this issue is or is not a CV joint.
i know this is from far left field, but please bear with me. do you have hub caps? if no, stop reading here. if yes, try taking them off and drive around to see if the sounds persists. the reason why i say this, is because at some point my front wheel brushed a curb very slightly and from then on whenever i made gradual left turns, the wheel had a slight click. i switched that hub cap with one from the back and the clicking is gone.
i re-read your original post - so it doesnt click with the rotation of the wheel. have you checked your sway bar end links? if the rubber is in bad shape or gone, it can make a click noice when the body leans or when a wheel rolls over a bump.
nope, no correlation to wheel rotation ... its just ONE click like i said
and it happens in the middle of a 90-degree left turn .... just as the wheels are beginning to straighten out again and the body rolls back to normal position
