Battery/Alternator for Subs Question

Hey, I've been considering getting a 2000 watt amp for two 1000 watt subs. I've heard people saying that I would need a high output alternator? Or could I just get another battery and store that one in my trunk? other suggestions are welcome. -97 4cyl. Camry LE if that helps.

Well it depends on how you play your system. Try adding the alternator first and if you feel that its not able to keep up with the load add a second battery. From what I've read its just as good as a cap. I havent actually tested my system with my HO and yellows yet but very soon...

If you like to play your system with the car off then you should look into a yellow top or odessy battery.

To keep your system thumping properly while the car is running a High output alternator is a good idea. (while car is on juice is pulled from the alternator)

Another upgrade you may want to consider to help is the BIG 3 upgrade which will either add to your current wiring or upgrade it giving you better current flow. Its a pretty simple upgrade and its pretty cheap as well.

Well what brand are these subs because it is likely they don't handle that much, and the amp probably doesn't produce that many watts, unless its Kicker or MTX. Plus that is unnecessary, two 12" Kicker/MTX subs plus one of their 2-channel 1000-1400 watt amps and aGOOD BOX you will bump. You'll need to upgrade your battery most likely, and maybe get an Irragi HOA.

here what I would do a single ported 10" Kicker Solo X running off a Kicker 1250.1 amp and using a optima deep cycle as the capcitor. run all 2/0 gauge wire to prevent noise disturbance. If you really want bump you have to get ported as your looking for loud and ported is used more for SPL than a sealed box is used

my setup is this a Kicker L7 12" in a sealed box as I am going for SQ, running of a Kicker 750.1 with a Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Cap. I am using 4 gauge wire and dynamatting the whole trunk. My headunit is a Kenwood DDX7017 and upon saving money I will be putting in MB Quart Components and Rear Coxials. I will be using a Kicker 600.4 as my amp for those speakers and tuning the sound processors with Rockford Fosgate 360 version.2. I won't get the massive bass like you are looking for but it will be clean and crisp. You don't need 2 1000watt subs and a 2000 watt amp for good solid bass.

I think he means battery such as a optima deep cycle, a high output altenator like a 160 amp and a capcitor for using a 2000 watt amp i would get a 5 farad bank cap

-sry to threadjack-

oh, and the big 3 is wiring upgrade to handle more power, its not the alternator or anything like that

Red top is a meant for starting. Im not sure if it can survive being discharged and charged a few times.

But i know for sure the yellow top can. Its a deep cycle battery and basically you can run it down and recharge without damaging it.
