3rd Generation Axle Boots

why must the axle boots be so hard... It totally sucks
I'm not a mechanic, but I have done my fair share on replacing things.
Just venting and seeing who else loves replacing these as much as I do.

Any secrets I should know about

thanks
tom

There is a reason I shelled out the $200 for a new axle, haha. It was a hell of a lot easier.

yeah just get new axles as a mechanic I know that it is expensive try my shop for instance

shop rate : 104/hr

replace 1 side axle boots 2.5/hr flat rate

so that is like 260 for one side much easier to buy two axles and get new bearings, grease and boots

i have replaced only one boot on a previous car because the joint was in good shape. i accidentally tore one boot when i was replacing the lower ball joint. thats when i also learned those replacement boots that are split on the side and screw together so it can be replace without taking anything off are complete garbage.
