ok, looked around a little but didnt find anything that really helped. that being said, my obx headers/y-pipe arrived today and my hi flo cat will be here soon. i realized that this combo, and correct me if im wrong, is probably gonna make the car a little louder then it is now. as some of you may klnow i have no muffler now and i dont want it any louder, maby even al little quieter in fact. my plan is to basically to have a full 2.5" exhaust to be built(which will still show how the obx stuff fits).
ive looked through about 50 posts about mufflers and heard about every clip out there but there all with either stock y pipe, headers(since there were none TMK) or theres just no way to tell. basically i need a res and a muffler, magnaflow sounds good as does the apexi n1 imo. i really want borla but its a little pricy, but its prefered(but i have no idea which borla to get). i have no idea what to look for as far a a res either. any advice or recomandation is welcome and apreciated.
Toysrme said nothing sounds better than a borla xs pro with a moroso spiral flow (it's a resonator??) and a open intake in his 3vz-fe ultimate guide.
Not counting me Apex'i N1 sounds hot and so much better on the v6 camry's and was the reason why I bought mine but don't know if the v6 guys kept their resonators though??
Greddy evo (2?) muffler sounds wicked too on the v6 camry but they don't sell just the muffler so that's out I guess.
Somebody was ranting off about HKS hi-power mufflers being better than Apex'i N1 but that was because he compared it to my raspy ass setup lol.
i would go with a Magnaflow over an Apexi ... Apexi N1's are going to be too loud for you
and you definitely need a res - it wont help you a ton with volume, but it will make the tone bearable ... otherwise your exhaust is going to sound like ass
if you really want to quiet it down [it will still be above stock volume, of course], get a muffler with a silencer ... and then you can see which way you like it best

keep in mind i have no muffler now, so the only way its gonna be much louder is with out a res...which i wont do with out. if i can get a muffler that will give up the need for a res im definatly open to that too(magniflow maby?), less money to spend.
i herd a clip of a v6 with the N1 and it sounded great alot like my car now, but that was without headers.
also, if anyone knows a good website to get mufflers too that would be great, i know of a few of them but there are people who have been at this alot longer then i have and know better then me.
p.s. i put pics of the headers in toys's origional post on the subject if anyone wants to see some close-ups of them.
The headers / y-pipe should not make any appreciable differance in the sound unless they re such low quality they leak. or they have mounting problems that create vibrations.

i guess it wont change the sound much ... im not sure if its myth or fact that the flow does increase/change with these aftermarket parts, but i assume that its true just as a precaution
Borla is one of my fav's, but i never suggest them because they are more $$ than Magnaflow usually ...
i want to get Borla on my Subaru(s), but we'll see how this summer goes first

I have a magnaflow muffler with no resonator and it doesn't sound that bad, I just wish it was louder. If I could get a new muffler, I'd get an Apexi N1 and put my resonator back on. Right now, the car is raspier than if I kept the resonator on, but it's not too bad.
