3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hey i'm new to the scene, but i got my brothers old fucked up 94, and i'm trying to put work into it. I removed the rust from the engine, changed the shift knob, got a headunit, floormats, etc...
It's going to be great when i'm done, trying to find an inexpensive shift boot! I'll probably just buy the ones i found at the store.
Anywho, here are some pics * self install *:
Let me know what you think, and thanks for welcoming me to the boards!
Most auto part stores that have ricer stuff should have a shift boot for you.
Since you started on the engine, spray some degreaser (simple green) on it, let it sit for 15 minutes and spray it off. Magic!. remember to cover the battery, distributer and alternator, fuses ...basically electricals...
Yeah, the black part comes off so you can add any type of manual shift knob, it has a little adapter on top, it's pretty dope.
The headunit is a KDC-...can't remember, it has high pass and low pass filters, ridiculous EQ settings, G-Force recognization, HD radio , satellite, mp3 reader, auxillary out, pre-outs for everything and aux-in as well, i don't even have subs in yet but it sounds nasty. What do you guys think about buying a body kit off of ebay? I was going to go for the spider, before i get the car painted..

I have some more pics, but i basically just added a shift boot, customized my air filter with a fram replacement and increased intake modification, sounds like a beast, no check engine light, runs nicely, cleaned up the engine some more ( bringing back some shine ). I did some restoration to my muffler so it looks new, and added a tip to it as well. take a look ( not cleaned up yet, but it will be soon! )
EDIT: Here's a before pic of the engine, so you can actually see a difference:
I personally like an nice simple OEM look, like my V6 exhaust tip stock. You'll see my personal taste at the meet. Most stuff on my car is OEM Toyote from diff models.
