Australia Headliner removal thru FRONT door

Hi guys,

I've always consulted this forum religiously and research every project for my Gen3 Camry, so imagine my surprise when I found wrong advise!

Various posts indicated the headliner should be removed out the rear door. I did this with great difficulty, but finally got it out! After inspecting the cloth, I decided that the job was too much for me, so I gave it to the local upholsterer to re-cover. When he gave the headliner back to me, he put it back through the FRONT n/s door, with both seats forward and the backrests back. Real easy, no problems at all.

So, anyone else wants to try this - do it thru the front door.

Also, the headliner backing board has increadibly sharp edges, from the resin, I guess. Be careful what they touch - they scarred even the plastic kick panels around the doors!

Apart from that, all advise was great as posted, just remove everything from the roof and ease the panel out.... Took me 2 hours to get it out the back door, and one hour to get it back in via the front door.

Hope this helps...

AH HAHAH!

Yes indeed. My 1st time, it took me 1 hour to figure it out. Now I can get it out in a couple minutes.

It's also better to remove the Pass seat for more room.

Adam, you've removed it so many times you could do it in the time it takes an F1 car to do a pitstop
