Getting ready for suspension need help

hey guys im getting ready to start ordering springs and shocks for my 97 camry 4 cyl and i just want your opinion on springs im getting. The struts im getting are going to be the tokico performance gas struts but i just need your opinion on some springs im deciding on

im really looking towards the intrax springs from here http://www.car-stuff.com/performance...e=38&category=
i think they will fit nicely with the wheels and should handle good. My bro has these same springs on his 93 camry

The tein spings were the ones i was going to get before i found the intrax springs http://www.racinglab.com/to97ca4cytes.html
the original site where i found the springs said they would lower a lot more than they really would the site said 2.2in front and 1.6in back when i really was 1.5in front and .6in back but i thnk they would handle nicely since there such a big brand in suspension

Here are some picks of the ride height currently. Im trying to get little to no wheel gap fyi

Back:

just gimme you opinion on which springs i should get. oh and just to let you know im not going for more confort im going for more performance and i want little to no wheel gap

Thanks

Do it right! Spend the cash and get coilovers! You will never do struts and springs again! K-Sport, D2, and Tein all make good coilover systems for that car and you can lower it as much as you want!

Check your mounts, if you have to replace them (I didn't) and you can't find the springs/struts at a real low price (I did) then it's going to cost around $800+ I would think (4-500 for the struts, 2-250 for the springs, 200 or more for the mounts) You can find the K-Sports for around $1000 I think. I would say $200 is definitely worth it. For me, I hadn't done anything else, and I had to do it with the insurance check for $560. That limited my choices right there, but I'm happy with the intrax setup for now.

well i need new strut mounts but my parents are going to pay for those (confirmation presentt) and so then im just going to buy the springs and struts

the intrax springs that im leaning towards are $235+free shipping and the struts (4 tokico performance gas struts) are $389+$34 for shipping and that all adds up to around $620

Confirmation? Congrats dude. if you can swing it and you don't care about the ride quality, get the coils, you won't regret it. Otherwise, the intrax are a good compromise. I have a gen3.5, which tein doesn't make springs for, so I may be biased, but I have nothing but praise for the intrax.

I would like to be different and say that going for coilovers is not always better because depending where you live it will cause you headaches and I'm not talking about the ride quality. If you live where it gets cold half the year and not to mention have crappy roads then expect them the k-sport coilovers or any other coilovers for that matter to not last long. Proof read up on all the maximas who have k-sport coilovers and live in the northeastern part of our country. They barely lasted 1 year and that's including just one winter. Look it up on maxima.org...

You can't just expect to slap on these coilovers and be done with it, if that's what you think then just get a strut/spring combo then. You need to keep these clean and check it at least once a month. It's like putting on a turbo kit on your car, you have to check up on it way more often then when it was stock. If you can live with that then go ahead and get the coilovers and enjoy the awesome performance. I know I will soon when I get my lazy ass off and put it on.

yeah well i live north of houston so the weather here is crazy because one day it could be hot then the next day its freezing then the next day hot again but the summers are just hot and i will mainly just do city driving my highschool is a mile from my house so im not taking big trips anywhere

the other reason i dont want to drop a whole lot of money on my car is because during college its going to get wear and tear and i also plan to move on to another car after college and thats still a long ways away....and i also dont want to spend much because i want to buy my sub and amp for my car (typical highschool teen thing). Since my car is slow i might as well give it a nice drop and have some king kong in the trunk

thanks for all the comments
