how big are these shock bolts? (axle install)

im trying to remove my driver's side shafts by taking out these 2 bolts which i hope will give the hub enough sway so i can knock the axle out. the arrows are pointing to them in the pic.

i believe there are nuts on both end and i was also wondering if they're the same size?

i didnt want to take out the castle-nut on the lower control arm as i can get my box-end wrench to fit in there and it almost strip the nut when i tried using the open end 19mm.

thanks.

The easiest way to get the axle out is to knock the lower control arm out. Its 3 17mm bolts and the control arm is out, and it gives you plenty of room to get the axle out. Taking out the strut bolts is unneccesary and if you dont get it exactly where it was it will throw off the alignment. Trust me, ive done hundreds of camry axles

fock. well rite now i got the shaft in, which was a bitch. i used a mallet and hit the other end. popped in but before that i was doing a little too much yanking in and out and now the inner joint is dislocated... (sighs) which the hub cannot move back into the shock assembly.

i gotta get a new shaft but taking this shaft in rite now out is a REAL bitch unlike before...

i got the axle out by removing a metal cover right above where the shaft goes in the tranny and prying the axle out with two prybars, which did the trick.

im gonna return the other axle i bought from autozone and tell them its a defect. the last one i got from them earlier today has a pos head. the splines were mushroomed prerrt good: had to file them down.

those 3 bolts were tough ass hell. i had a deep socket socket on those and it wouldnt budge. looks like theyve been on there forever.
