3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Finally dropped the camry. tein springs, trd rear struts and tokico fronts. the only problem i have is that the tokico strut was from a gen 3 camry and the mount for the front sway bar is in a different location so i just tied it down rather than taking it off completely. what can i do about that? btw heres a pic of the drop =]. i have yet to put on the hubcaps cuz im lazy and ill take another pic once its washed.
i suppose u could put on a gen3 fsb. looks good, but for get the hubcaps, get some rims on that bitch the drop looks good.
i want to but i dont wanna spend so much money at once lol. i was considering it but i need to save my money for when i move up north to san francisco at the end of summer and the wheels i want arent made anymore >=[. ill post more pix probably on tuesday
I remember being in the same boat, where I wanted to get rims but couldnt afford it. Around here police cars have a large chrome/silver center cap that goes over the hub and lugs, maybe you could pick up some of those somwhere. They are probably pretty cheap and make steelies look better.
honestly i really dont know. i bought them off miltdoggie used. all i know is that they are green lol. honestly i didnt care much for the handling, more for the look. as for the swaybar, the gen 3 swaybar will fit with no problems?
I'm dropping my car as well. I have Ksport springs and Tokico blue struts already, but I wanted to know if I'd need a special strut mount for the lowered springs, or if the ones I have right now are good.

you can technically use the same ones you have now but youll hear a lot of clunking noises. im guessing your camry is a 99 because of your sn and has a few miles on them. the mounts on my 97 with 128k were almost unusable. they were so deteriorated that i wouldnt trust using them again. all strut mounts for gen 4s are the same so just get new ones.

yeah i think the green ones are the s-tech cause they only make the s-tech and h-tech for the gen 4 camry and s-tech are green and h-tech are like a light brown

I know you got your struts and springs used, but where would be a good place to look for them online.
ebay would be the best option if you don't have hookups. since they have the "best offer" option on most of the stuff now, and usually they will accept the offer if you don't lowball like crazy. just make sure you are going to purchase from a reputable seller.
