Ok, I have replaced a JDM 3vzfe engine with my stock 3vzfe. Today, I just go to pick up the car and it has some weird noise when I give gas. Overall the engine seems a little bit more noisy than before the engine change. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

like the noise of the injectors or what maybe you have a vaccum leak somewhere

how is it performance wise? do you feel like there might be retarded timing or something like that?

this maybe a long shot but maybe the lack of an EGR makes it louder?

First of all, thank you for the input

For the performance, compare to prior the engine change, it is pretty much the same. May be a little bit smoother. I know the noise is around the exhaust manifold. And the injectors are working fine.

may just be a leak...a sound clip would help if u could provide one. my camry makes LOTS of "weird" noises

I checked again today, it will probably the leak from somewhere close to the flex pipe~

But now, I notice that there is some valve ticking noise. Is it normal? I asked the mechanic, he said b cox the engine that I changed was sitting on the ground for a while. He said that the noise will disappear after a week or so..

Flex pipes are notorious for leaking, if it's original or if you've grazed something while driving. Also tiny exhaust leaks near the motor can often sound like the ticking valve noise. Also i've noticed on both of the camry's that i've had (5sfe and 3vz-fe), as well as my father's highlander that you can hear the valves, unless it's very pronounced it could just be the way your engine sounds.
