what is the oem brand because im getting ready to order all my stuff 2morrow and i just want to know the brand cause i was searching around and i saw the oem strut mounts are better but the dealer charges so much and i was wondering if the oem brand is kyb because i found a good price on ebay for some kyb strut mounts
thanks after this is done you wont have to worry about my dumb suspension questions
should kyb last a long time because i dont plan keeping the car my whole life i just plan to keep it through college and then move on (hint: im going to 11th grade this august)

KYB never seems to have Complaints. My last ones were NAPA, and broke upon instalation. I said screw it, and have gone OEM at the dealer since then. But KYB is the next best for an OEM replacement. My mechanic here in town I;ve know for 6 years uses KYB struts and mounts, and never has issues.

Yeah, KYB will still be fine with any struts. Only other Mount besides Toyota I would recomend WOULD be KYB. Also, don;t forget about the sway bar links. Most people forget those. Then just the normal sway bar bushings is really all that is left to replace.

so i will need new sway bar links does my car have a sway bar?
edit: i found some OEM ones so does this need to be replace imediately or does it need to be upgraded at some point since the suspension is going to be much stiffer

You have 4 sway bar links. 2 in front, 2 in rear. After theat many miles here in the snow places, they normally need to be drilled out from rust. But you may be fine since there is no road salt there. And if they come off fine, you can just use them.

Are you getting Tokico HP Blues? That's what I used on my Gen4 along with KYB Stut mounts. Also swapped out the springs with the Eibach Pro Kit. What a difference! Handles so much better.
Got the KYB mounts and Eibach springs from TireRack.
Got the Tokico HP's from a local performance shop.
Got the sway bar links from NAPA... half the cost of the dealership.
(Borrowed spring compressor tool from AutoZone... they'll do that.)
Have fun.
