3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I had a P0446 for a while, basically myt CEL's been on for more than a year with that code, changed the VSV for EVAP and light was still on, bought a scanner from ebay and just got done scanning and erasing.
I had a P0141 Heated O2 Sensor heater circuit Malfunction that didn't come back, P0446 is gone too for now.
Could the P0141 result from a Seafoam treatment? did that about a month ago.

it is the vacuum switch valve, by the charcoal canister. I had the exact code and solved it by replacing the vsv myself. If the code did not return, then maybe you are one of those luckt ones, but if it does, don;t worry, coz the fix only costs me about $80 total.
I took a look under and the VSV seemed a bit hard to get to, I might just try to take out the whole canister assembly

I have toyota camry 1999 LE with CEL ON for code P0141.
Replacing oxygen sensor did not work. Car feels wobbly at higher speeds.
Any hints????
(One guy tried to help me with the manual...However, I am a new driver and if I had known about this CEL stuff, I would not have bought this car)
Is this a 5S-FE (4 banger)? Which oxygen sensor did you replace? Hopefully the one downstream of the catalytic converter (since that code is for Sensor 2).
Guys, P0141 is one of the HARDEST codes to clear on the 5S-FE. You can spend a LOT of money chasing down a fix to this problem. Emissions stuff by nature is tricky! Try resetting the code every time it comes on for a while. Sometimes this is the simplest fix.

And I did reset the code. However it came back in an hour.
Is there a device that sets the code.
Just keep resetting it. Thats how mine finally went away.
There are plenty of devices out there that read and RESET the CEL codes.

Do you think that if there is really any hard issue, it would get solved due to it?
Also, would you recommend any CEL code resetter?
Like i said, it's tricky to pin point one issue that would throwing the code. Usually it's emissions and/or exhaust related. As for a CEL resetter, any one will do. You can spend $160 on a ScanGaugeII like I have that does everything under the sun, or just get a basic $20 one too.
edit: autozone can rest the light for you too. for free.
