4th Generation

I've done some research in the past and only very few ppl have done it.

If you were to add a CAI on the current Injen SRI, i'm not sure if the airflow will be optimized. You'll still be getting that good cold air, but the air might be hugging too many corners in the pipe. I also wondered if the CAI would trigger a CEL. What do you guys think?

This was always on my Things to Do list, but never got the chance to do it. What's the pipe size of the Injen SRI? If I can get that, I might be able to help ourselves out.

they are lying ... their "ram air" attachment is an extension to supply cold air to the SRI

but its not a CAI

im thinking about getting the Secret Weapon SRI regardless

I just put a knn filter in my camry. But if want to take it to the next step I would go for the Weapon R and get a heat sheild.

ive got news for you ... with a 4cyl engine, youre not gaining any HP regardless of what you do unless you run forced induction

therefore, a CAI/SRI is purely for aesthetic & audible reasons... not for HP/TQ gains ... so an SRI may not bring in cold air, but it does give the engine a good sound in comparison to the stock setup

but you are right about one thing, heat shields are a waste of money

yea but the stock setup u wont lose horses...sucking in hot air will not help the engine breathe better so thats why im debating on getting a short ram...i could get an injen short ram but i just dont see why i would do that if im gonna lose power...i know the 5sfe isnt a strong motor "NA" but i dont want to lose any more power lol

Yea heat shields do about nothing, heat still gets around it. But if you position it correctly it will reduce very little of the heat, better than nothing. I like my stock air box the best. Unless if you are going to make your own cold air intake like I am doing.

I bought the silicon hose kit and replaced the hose that is connected to the engine and to the Intake main tube. Toyota put like a restrictor in the hose. After I installed the new hose I seen better acceleration.
