3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
All that they did was paint over them, then prolly clear coated them.
Just tape off the trunk and the reverse lights, or remove them from the trunk, then rough them a little bit so the paint will stick. Paint them, then clear coat.
I did it when I had my '96 toyota camry.

I have a question. If I have a beige color camry, do you think it would look good if I painted them black, or should I just leave them until I can afford to get them color matched?

Black is going to look a lot cleaner than just having the center color matched. Especially if you can get a tint, even a light one, on your windows. That would bring the black all together. I dunno, maybe its just me, but I think the full lights on our trunks is one of the nicest things about our gen.
I did that to my beige camry, it looks best in for black or white camry. If you really want to know go to a local tint shop or a place that sell vinyl. Match the color to the car and add them to your lights. If you do not like it you always can remove it. I wish I could send you a pick, but can't find it.
