1996 Camry, How To Pull ECU Codes?

Is there an easy way to jumper the dignostics terminal and retrieve dignotstics codes from the ECU? My girlfriends Check Engine light recently came on and we were needing to get the code to see what is wrong.

Thanks

Download the Camry Manual from the General Camry Forum, it shows you how to diagnose the engine codes...

We took the car to Autozone and they said it was OBD1 so they couldn't pull the codes. Not sure if the dude knew what he was talking about.

EVERY car sold in the US since 1996 is federal mandated to be OBD2. That guy should not be aloud to work on ANYTHING that has a moving part on it......The OBD2 plug is behind your change tray to the left of the steering column. Take it out. It;s the black trapozoid. Go back, and tell there tard to come out and plug it there, or up his a$$, whichever is easier for him.
