3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just saw the thread with tacomonkey69's black CE V6 5-speed, and, though his 5-speed CE V6 is very likely much more rare than my automatic CE V6, I don't think I've seen any others around my town. It seems like a bit of an odd-ball combination that not many people would have bought - my bare-bones car has vinyl backed cloth seats and no options other than power windows/locks, yet has the V6.
Women at my college had one here in Connecticut. In the US, they also came in LE V6. Funny thing is, many of the LE V6 5-speeds I see here are loaded with leather, sunroof, etc.

Same here, which makes me think that in the past the V6 package included alot more then just a larger engine like it does on todays Camry's. Either that or the V6 was only available on the LE's with other options, but I really dont know, lol.

Hmm, possibly in the US. All I know is my car is the most bare bones CE I've ever seen, but has the V6...
i dont even know what the CE, SE, LE, XLE classifications mean ... all i know is when i look for a car, it better have power everything except seats [which my subaru has anyways]

I dont know what they all stand for, but I know how they rank among other variations and what each is usually considered.
CE is the base model, which most people get when they want to have a new Camry, but as cheap as possible.
LE is basically the CE, but with a few more options and has more options to upgrade to.
SE is the sport edition.
XLE is the luxury edition, which is usually loaded.
