Missing in the Rain

I'll try this again. I posted this 6 months ago and didn't get too many responses. I have a 1998 Camry LE V6. Whenever I drive it in the rain the engine will start missing badly, even if I'm running down the highway at 70 mph. I can't figure out what the cause is? When it's dry out the car runs like a top, which is why I haven't felt the urge to take it in the Toyota dealer. I've had a couple shade tree mechanics look at it but they could not diganose it. Any ideas?? It only does it in the rain.

If you have over 100,000 miles on the car and the plug wires are original, chances are the insulation is braking down and causing the current passing through them to spark to ground on any nearby wet/damp area. Change the plug wires and see if that corrects the problem.

^ thats what i was thinking. also check the distributor cap for cracks, but i also think its a plug wire issue.

Thanks. I will change the plug wires as the car has 130K on it and I believe they are the originals. I'll post back with results.
