Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Ok so last night we tried to take off my rear tires to put on the new brembo rotors and rear pads...
The rear passenger side came off, got the rotor on and the pads.... no problems...
We started the rear driver side but after taking off the nuts from the wheel it would not budge!
We hit it countless times with a hammer.. tried WD, let that soak didnt work... tried PB blaster and that didnt work either...
Any tips? Its a steelie btw.

did you hit it with a mallet from the front of the back? it might help to hit the bottom at the car and then away from the car... not sure it that made sense..
otherwise raise it higher and try spinning the wheel while hitting it.

and let me guess....you took the car somewhere to get the wheels worked on, and they retightened it with an air impact gun
some idiots did that to my dad's sienna and I actually friend the clutch on my 250lbs/ft electrical impact gun trying to take the damn things off. in the end, it took a 3ft breaker bar and my full strength to get them off. idiots.

We hit this thing like a cheap slut. Back to front, left right and all around...
We went from a rubber mallet to a giant sledge... nothing!
The bolts are all loose, I rolled it back and forth the drive way slowly to see if the wheel would wobble... nothing.
Put the hand brake on and started to hammer some more... NOTHING.

it's not the wheelnuts that he's having trouble with.
haha... cheap slut... but I had a problem like that but I just hitted it hard on the back like 3 times in the top and 3 times in the bottom from the back and it let loose but other than that I don't know what to say??

I cant hit it that way myself. im gonna head over by him tomorrow see if we can try again. If not Im just gonna go to the shop.
I have to drive upstate this friday and I need to get my car aligned and fix the left control rod.
On that note... anyone know the right name for that part (front left control rod?), where i can get it and how much it costs? Its not control arm... at least i dont think so... I remember seeing front end link rod.

it may sound kinda weird but i had a wheel that was stuck a few years ago. first i used a heat gun and heated up the area that i though was stuck. while being careful not to burn anything i then instantly doused the area with ice water. took 3 tries but it worked for me. theres prolly a more sound way to do it but if all else fails.
