Whats goin on!?

OK, I was installing an amp wiring kit and disconnected the battery to connect the 12v power cable. when i tried to connect the battery back all of my lights started flashing and my horn was blaring, so i disconnected the power cord and tried again to the same result... everything is exactly how it was before, except when i try to connect the battery it STILL goes haywire! whats goin on?

Sounds like you have an issue with your alarm, any idea which system you have? Did you try to disable the alarm after you've hooked it back up?

my alarm wouldnt let me start my car one morning before school ... i think it had gone haywire as well because it was chirping randomly

i just opened the doors [with the alarm blaring because i couldnt turn it off] then ripped the brain box out from below the dash/steering wheel area

all u need is the right size sockets and some elbow grease

It's not a bug, it's a feature. This is what the alarm is supposed to do. A lot of alarms go off immediately when power is applied. This is so that a thief disconnecting the battery to get inside sets it off as soon as he tries to put power back on.

All you need to do is to have your alarm button handy and disarm it right away.

this may be different on ur car, but i ran into a similar problem when i was workin on mine. above the dead pedal somwhere(my current camry doesnt have it), there is a small chrome switch. that, i believe, was the alarm switch. i flipped it and the alarm wouldnt go off anymore. now some on here said it may be the airbag switch but my current car has airbags and no switch or an alarm.
