Exhaust, again, please give info, gonna do it today
okay, so I got a nice borla muffler, damn, does that shit sound DEEP!
but, deep isn't deep enough, i want it to sound MEAN.
Today at the muffler shop, my friend Sal says he'll do from the hi flo-cat to the muffler for me for 80 ( we know eachother pretty well. ) But, I don't know if that will make it sound deeper, or like a lawnmower civic. Right now it pretty much sounds deep, but do you think straight pipe will make it sound MEAN? ANGRY? DEEP AS SHIT? Let me know, because i'll get it done today. Thanks people.
...are you changing to a different size piping? and if you remove the resonator [between the cat & muffler] it will get really raspy like a civic with a glasspack ...

yeah he was gonna give me bigger piping, and remove the reso, but I don't want that rappy civic shit...so maybe i'll just leave it alone. Would it be better for me to just get bigger piping between the cat / res / mufler? Or what do you think?
the cat may make it louder but no deeper, i wouldnt delete the resonator though. that will prolly make it louder and more like that civic lawnmower u so hate. the intake really helps make the engine sound more agressive. and sounding "mean", is all personal definition. personally i think the sound of a bigblock V8 all cammed to hell sounds mean, but others think otherwise. good start with the borla though. what sounds "mean" to u?
but thats a 3VZ ... if i had one of those bad boys i would be
Oof! You're right. I saw "3rd Gen" next to Trajjik's name and made an engine assumption.
I guess I don't know exactly (from this information within this thread), which engine we're "exhausting" here.
+1 on the "it's still a Camry" comment!
+1 on the "Spare the rice and SAVE your Resonator" suggestion!
But don't lose faith. There is a way to make these sound "mean"; take a listen to this.
After several and "OMFG" comments the owner replied with:
Yea i was gunna say it sounded stock
Adn for a meaner sound i think deleting teh resonator sounds awsome, but the downside is that the raspyness...i think bigbirds setup sounds awsome! he has no muffler :P

after all of your responses, I came to the conclusion i'll just get bigger piping, he'll do it for 30, without removing the resonator. Thanks everyone. Oh, and all I have left are the tints and a paint job after this !!
