4th Generation Hmmmm.....whats the deal???

ok, just was wondering what the big hype about this stuff called 'Seafoam'; i have never heard of it until i read about it on TN like yesterday. i mean i read that its supposed to clean out your intake, engine misc.; and then you dump some in the gas tank too i read.....i guess my question is does it really work and how specifically would i go about doing this. and then i read that sometimes you can ruin your car by doing this. my car is a 2000 camry with 123,000 miles on it, is this worth trying? thanks in advance!

i did it to my 95 Camry with 134k miles this past saturday ... it wont hurt your car unless it was poorly maintained

if it was maintained poorly, it may have alot of gunk in the engine, and cleaning it would remove the gunk from the seals and cause them to leak/fall apart ... these would have to be replaced

the only other thing it can do is foul your spark plugs, but spark plugs are only $2 each and easy to replace yourself, so again - not a big deal

i highly recommend it ... it wont "ruin" your car ... and the best method is to add 1/3 of a pint thru the Brake Booster line

it wont ruin your car, it would remove gunk that was patching leaks so you would have a leak then but it isnt like it made the leak... its definitely worth it, some people suggest doing it right before a spark plug and oil change just fyi
