3rd Generation What should I do? (read inside)

I recently bought a '92 i4 5spd Camry. It was not in GREAT condition, but was decent (needed struts) so I bought it for $2000, put struts and side mirror, in the end lets say it cost me $2500. Now I have a friend who just killed his 1992 Camry's (v6 auto - black with black tints) engine (was overheating - i told him not to drive and to change his thermostat, didnt listen, overheating the ENTIRE TIME on the freeway on a 1 1/2 hour drive - headgasket gone) Now he's willing to sell me his car for $750, I can get another engine/transmission (doesnt need transmission but the original has a TON of miles on it so better to change it) (from tigerjapanese.com) for about another $1500. The body of his car is in great condition, and I know for a fact that it doesnt need any other work

Should I sell the i4 camry I purchased a month ago and pick up this? Whats your take on this. Keep in mind my current camry has over 200k (km's) on it and has VERY LITTLE rust on the driver side passenger door and some other touchy spots of rust also, while his has none visible and looks to be in very good condition body wise (better than mine)

Buy it put in a low mileage jap auto v6??? Or keep current i4 camry with a bit over 200k kms on it???? What would u do?

how handy are you? can you do the motor swap yourself?

i know you say your friend's car is perfect other than the blown motor, but any person that would drive their car while its overheating (a very serious no-no) makes me question what else they did to the car (transmission, brakes, basic maintenance...) that just hasnt surfaced yet. plus $750 for a 15-year-old car that doesnt run seems way too high for me.

if his engine is toast, why dont you just get a V6 for your own car?
